Interested in learning about local preservation regulatory work in a historic venue? Take a 15 min stroll from the conference hotel to see the 1853 Gallier Hall which served for over a century as City Hall and received a $3 million restoration in 2018 to celebrate New Orleans’s 300th anniversary. 

In this historic venue, staff will share the cultural and economic purposes of the Vieux Carre Commission and the Historic District Landmarks Commission as well perspectives on achieving other social and environmental goals such as inclusion and reduction of carbon emissions.
