Arriving in Milwaukee via Chicago in 2002 following 15 years in the record business, Gary Witt is the CEO/co-owner (along with Matt Beringer) of the Pabst Theater Group, a multi-faceted entertainment organization whose activities include the booking, marketing and hosting of over 800 events per year in and around the city of Milwaukee in iconic, creative places of public assembly that help to build community, loyalty and reinforce identity and heritage for Milwaukee. What began simply as saving the legendary and historic Pabst Theater has now grown to become the Pabst Theater Group which now also includes High Life Theatre, Riverside Theater, Turner Hall Ballroom, Vivarium and The Fitzgerald as well as shows around the city in multiple other venues. Now celebrating their 23rd year, The Pabst Theater Group contributes over a quarter of a billion dollars to Milwaukee’s economy annually while also helping to define the city’s soul and identity.
