Darrell Moore began his career in the McHenry County, Illinois planning department 20 years ago, following internships with the City of Chicago and the Congress for the New Urbanism. In his time at the county, he rose from associate planner & solid waste coordinator to deputy director, before departing in 2018 to become the City Planner for his adoptive hometown of Woodstock, Illinois. A large portion of his first four years with the city involved planning for and coordinating the rehabilitation of the Old McHenry County Courthouse on the historic Woodstock Square. In 2025, he took a planning position at Crystal Lake, Illinois. Darrell has a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in Geography from Chicago State University.
