This session will explore what’s at stake for these communities and how to incentivize the adaptation of historic properties to withstand future hazards. Attendees will examine best practices for assessing economic impacts. From costs associated with rebuilding historic Main Street communities to losses tied to cultural institutions and residential properties, this session will touch on methods for valuing losses to cultural heritage and identifying funding sources for disaster adaptation—including historic tax credits.
