Enjoy a half-mile walk to the Catherine Foley Tavern located in the Third Ward while learning about Milwaukee's early preservation efforts.  After a failed attempt to secure a raze permit, in February of 2024, a developer donated their historic building to Milwaukee Preservation Alliance (MPA). The courageous nonprofit took on the restoration of a severely damaged building with major issues as a living embodiment of their mission, all the while promoting preservation, advocacy, and education. Join this hands-on exploration of the renovation work-in-progress and hear about the steps the MPA took to get to this phase of the project, including fundraising, marketing, and building analysis.
