Elizabeth Karcher is the Executive Director of the President Woodrow Wilson House in Washington, D.C., a site owned and operated by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The Wilson House presents an opportunity to see how a U.S. President lived in retirement a century ago in a perfectly preserved historic house museum and offers an intimate look at Wilson the man, his presidency, and his consequential and complicated legacy.
As Executive Director, Elizabeth manages the strategy and operations of this museum. She and the Wilson House team are dedicated to ensuring that the Wilson House is a place for open dialogue and discussion of important historical issues that are relevant today. In addition to telling the many stories derived from the more than 6,000-piece collection of this National Historic Landmark and model historic and presidential site, Elizabeth’s goal for the house and garden is live and breathe the site’s moto: Historic perspectives; Modern initiatives.
Elizabeth holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from Rutgers University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from the American University of Paris, France.
