The City of Atlanta's Department of City Planning, in partnership with Historic Atlanta, Inc., completed the LGBTQ+ Context Statement in 2023. This statement will help guide future designation activities and development projects that will contribute to the preservation and celebration of LGBTQ+ history and culture in Atlanta.
This session will not only provide information about the context statement and the efforts undertaken to create it, but will introduce the City of Atlanta’s programming and preservation activities that have grown out of the context statement since its completion
