Hayley E. Smith is the Chief of Preservation Planning for the Mississippi Department of Archives and History. They oversee the Certified Local Government program and the Section 106 process, in addition to administering the Historic Site Preservation Grant. A former National Trust Diversity Scholar, their interests in historic preservation include increasing the representation of queer Mississippians on the National Register.
