Jim Gabbert has worked in Historic Preservation for over 25 years. After completing his Master’s degree at Eastern Michigan University, he worked for the statewide non-profit preservation organization in Indiana doing fieldwork. After documenting over 10,000 resources, he took his experience to the Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office where he served as the National Register and Survey coordinator for nearly 9 years. He accepted a position as a historian with the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. He is responsible for reviewing documentation for the National Register as well as Determinations of Eligibility and tax credit Part 1 applications for 11 states and territories.
