Dr. Bill Cassidy is the senior United States Senator for Louisiana and an outstanding champion of historic preservation in Congress. After growing up in Baton Rouge, Cassidy attended Louisiana State University (LSU) for undergraduate and medical school and by 1990, he joined LSU Medical School as faculty. A dedicated public servant, Cassidy served as a Louisiana State Senator (2006-2009), U.S. Representative (2009-2015) and is serving his second term in the U.S. Senate. As a member of the Senate Finance Committee, he has championed the federal Historic Tax credit and continues to fight for the first improvements to the federal historic tax credit since 1986. Cassidy also seeks increases in the Historic Preservation Fund.
