Billy Nungesser has proudly served as the 54th Lieutenant Governor of the state of Louisiana since 2016. As the second-in-command in the executive branch and Louisiana's ambassador as Commissioner of the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, Billy focuses on increasing heritage tourism throughout the state and acknowledges the significant contributions of the state’s Main Street program, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Since its inception in 1984, the program has generated over $1 billion of private investment across the state. Under his administration, the state of Louisiana celebrated a fourth consecutive year of record-breaking visitation as Louisiana welcomed more than 53.2 million visitors, bringing in more than $18.9 billion to the state. He shares his knowledge of tourism and tax incentives with other officials through the National Lieutenant Governors Association.
