Jessi Hollis McCarthy specializes in curriculum design to foster understanding through conversation and developing tools to help learners of all ages navigate the challenges of digital citizenship. She is currently exploring the intersections between media literacy and history education. Conference presentations include “The Challenge of Truth: Fact-Checking Historical Heroes” at the National Council for History Education and “Detecting Propaganda, Defeating Emotional Manipulation” at the National Council for the Social Studies. She is the 2023 recipient of the Elizabeth Thoman Service Award (National Association for Media Literacy Education) for her work in media literacy.
