Lucas Griswold is Senior Manager for Interpretation and Education at Chesterwood, a Site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. There, he is implementing inclusive audience-driven oral interpretation strategies which interrogate the role of beaux-arts sculpture in crafting an exclusionary ‘American Identity’ at the end of the 19th c. He earned an MA in Arts & Heritage: Management, Education, and Policy from Maastricht University, where his continuing interest in the intersection of frontline engagement staff personal agency, heritage activism, and narrative research began. He is co-coordinator of the American Chapter of the Association of Critical Heritage Studies.
