Andy Sternad, AIA, AICP, Principal, Waggonner & Ball: Andy is a principal and the business leader of Waggonner & Ball, a New Orleans-based architecture, landscape and planning studio within Moffatt & Nichol, the global coastal engineering and infrastructure firm. Sternad focuses on urban- and building-scale projects that integrate issues of climate, landscape, economy, and culture. He has led the developed the firm’s Living With Water™ and Dutch Dialogues™ approaches in New Orleans, Houston, Tampa, Mobile, and Chennai, India to help communities adapt to changing environments. He was a co-author of the Greater New Orleans Urban Water Plan, and served as Waggonner & Ball’s project lead for Dutch Dialogues Charleston, the Charleston City Plan Land & Water Analysis, and the Charleston Comprehensive, Integrated Water Plan. Sternad holds a B.A. in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and a Masters of Architecture from Yale.
