Description

Please join your fellow attendees into the two adjacent Louisiana State museum buildings flanking both sides of the St Louis Cathedral. Enjoy light fare and drinks as you hear local music, peruse the museum exhibits and get a flavor of New Orleans wonder.

Visit the Cabildo, the site of the Louisiana Purchase transfer ceremonies in 1803 and one of Louisiana's most significant buildings where landmark cases were decided. The three floors of Cabildo exhibitions cover the history of Louisiana by featuring artifacts from the museum's vast collection.

The Presbytére, designed in 1791 to match the Cabildo, was used for commercial purposes until 1834 when it became a courthouse. The Presbytère’s two permanent exhibits tell two sides of the ongoing Louisiana story—one of celebration (Mardi Gras) and one of resilience (hurricanes).
