Enjoy the music of the award-winning Edna Karr Marching Band as you make your way out of the cathedral and into Jackson Square. Then join your fellow attendees for light fare and drinks in the Cabildo and the Presbytére. These two Louisiana State museum buildings are on either side of the Saint Louis Cathedral. Peruse the museum exhibits and get a flavor of New Orleans wonder!

  • Please bring your conference name badge with you. This event is open to all registered PastForward conference attendees but you will need your conference name badge for entry.

  • Two drink tickets were included when you picked up your conference registration. Please bring the drink tickets with you. You may also purchase drinks on site.

Visit the Cabildo, the site of the Louisiana Purchase transfer ceremonies in 1803 and one of Louisiana's most significant buildings where landmark cases were decided. The three floors of Cabildo exhibitions cover the history of Louisiana by featuring artifacts from the museum's vast collection.

The Presbytére, designed in 1791 to match the Cabildo, was used for commercial purposes until 1834 when it became a courthouse. The Presbytère’s two permanent exhibits tell two sides of the ongoing Louisiana story—one of celebration (Mardi Gras) and one of resilience (hurricanes).
