This session is made possible by the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund. To learn more, visit our Partners page.
This session will explore how the National Park Service is increasing visitor awareness of the great cultural diversity held park units, from the planning stages through implementation and interpretation.
Representative examples of parks and park projects will be explored as case studies illustrating how meaningful connections are made with cultural communities and understanding varied perspectives to expand the cultural narratives of our parks.
Processes embedded in cultural resource compliance and policy of the National Park Service can create opportunities for input and involvement from communities outside of the Federal Government and serve as a model for all entities in the field of preservation.
